Admins of the page/workspace should not delete any comment
Hello Team, is it possible to 'disable' the function that a page or community admin can deleting a comment. We want that an admin shouldn't delete or edit a comment from other users in the community or Page.
The mentioned changes have just been released to the cloud with version 17.x.x and are also included in the latest EE version (released with 14.7.0).
I wanted to let you know that we've just started to work on improving the deletion management of comments. As a first step, we're going to restrict the permission to delete comments to the author of the specific comment, admin(-s) of the affected area and moderator(-s). That way, normal users won't be able to just delete any comment under their own piece of content anymore.
Hey, sorry for the very late response on this. We are planning to do some changes on deleting comments.
We are thinking about removing the option for normal users to delete any comments under their post. This would only be possible for the author of the comment themselves, admins of the page / workspace or moderators.
In addition we would like to make it possible to report comments specifically and not deleting the comment as such but replacing it with “This comment has been deleted” or something similar.
Since the admin of the page / workspace is responsible for moderating the content within their page / workspace we won't remove the permission to delete comments, though.
What do you think?

Following our Service Management meeting at COYO on Thursday we were advised to inform you of our priority for tickets, so the Product Owner can take this into consideration. This is rated by Uniper as 'High' priority.
I suggest that you brief your admins about good community management. ;)
