Show number of views publicly
Among other information currently the number of shares is shown in the footer of teasers and articles. Client idea of a valuable extension to that is to show, how many viewers already had that page viewed.
This also can be an easy quick-view motivation/control for editors and workspace contributors.
Hey Christoph, that is unfortunately true for some contents - for some others we have readable URL, though. But in general I agree. We should improve the integration of analytic tools, e.g. by providing more and better readable URL.
I just wanted to state that our general strategy here is that we won't build an analytics tools within COYO. We should rather focus on integrating the existing (and great) tool which are already out there.
Hi Sven, regarding your first comment: it is not easy at all to track Coyo with Google Analytics etc as there are no meaningful URLs. The URLs in Coyo consist of a confusing bunch of letters and numbers.

You're welcome and thanks also for the possibility of open discussion.
You're right. Page admins are usually sensitive for topics in their responsibility. That will do.
Thanks for your feedback, Oliver! I would rather keep the administration of this feature easy (just add it on a page level) but apart from that I think this is a great idea

Agree, that this wouldn't replace detailed tracking and analysis tools. In comparable digital social environments the number of views is also an indicator of the public relevance of a content and might lead to even more views/interest.
And yes: an enable/disable setting is a must. Best would be a global enable/disable setting on administrative level and also an enable/disable setting on page level for page admins. There will always be topics, where a public view display is not desirable.
Tools like Analytics and Matomo are actually pretty good and should be used to track and analyze contents. But I like the idea of showing the views of an article publicly (can be enabled / disabled) to all users.
It would be great to see how many people actually viewed / read a blog article.
A small "Eye" icon at the bottom somewhere next to the "Bell" icon could give info of how many people viewed the article.
Right now we have to use an analytics Tool like Google Analytics or Matomo (Piwik) to count unique visits.
A setting should be made available to enable / disable this feature.
This setting could be located in the admin panel / and / or should be available in the blog settings.
