Hey Steffen, I wouldn't say that we didn't think it through. We just didn't have a legal information mind. It was more about showing users who is the admin of the page and can manage it. But we'll take it into consideration to make the imprint optional. Let's see whether other customers are in need of this feature, too.
in general we don't want to make the majority of the features optional. If you could enable / disable most of the features in COYO it would become a configuration monster quite quickly. One of COYO's main advantages is the easy use, setup and configuration.
You are right in the way that colleagues in the imprint might not be responsible for all the content but they might be responsible for some of the content. The way I see it, It is a bit like an imprint in a magazine - an intern / trainee might have contributed an article and will therefore be listed in the imprint, although he or she is not responsible for the whole magazine.
The imprint for pages was initially introduced so that users can see who might be a contact person for that particular page. So, the legal point of view was not really the priority. I have to admit though, that the name "Imprint" suggest a legal background.
As a workaround I would suggest that you could rename the navigation entry from "Imprint" to something else like e.g. "Admins" or to add a disclaimer to the imprint (since it is a widget layout, you could place any widget in it).
Hey Steffen, what do you mean by "There are user displayed in the imprint, which have nothing to do with the imprint in a legal point of view"? The imprint shows all admins of that particular page - so colleagues who could edit the content in any way. What would be your expectation here?

Understood. Are you aware whether your users are using the tour? Maybe would dedicate a tour step to link to a users profile?
Have you tried the "Complete profile" widget? This could encourage users to fill in their profile but I guess it is not direct enough, right?

I like that idea and we actually started adding this to new features we are releasing. For example the new search can be triggered by hitting the "S" key. the new launchpad will also have a shortcut to open it.
Hey Tanja, we are already working on an integration with the calendar and I really like the idea of integrating the task management as well.
Though, integrating emails might be a bit tricky and we are not planning on doing that right now nor in the future for a couple of reasons:
1. First of all this might get quite complex from the technical side. How do we assign users in a mail to users in COYO. What about users who don't have a COYO account. Which different sorts of email server do we support?
2. We would start mixing things that have a different purpose / mechanics. Emails as such are usually a private conversation. A single person is sending you (or a group of people) a message - but basically this is a 1 on 1 conversation. COYO however is a social intranet which allow you to work collaboratively in a team - it is more about public information and sharing. So reading your emails in COYO would not really fit into this concept.
3. Email applications like Outlook are designed for mainly one purpose: receiving, reading and managing emails. In this way it's very specialized and detailed and we would not be able to implement this in the same depth. So, in general our strategy with tools like outlook is to embrace their existence and integrate them with COYO so you can easily use both tools.
However, there are ideas to integrate emails in COYO like sending timeline posts as an email or to import email conversations to COYO as timeline posts / comments.
This issue is planned and we will start developing it as soon as we can free up resources for that task. Unfortunately there are a few other items with a higher priority on our table right now. We’ll keep you posted about the progress.
Unfortunately rather month than weeks. I can't give you a timeline, yet, but I'll post any news here as soon as we can say when we are going to tackle this issue.

Hey Susanne, from a technical point of view it would be possible to do that. But there were two reasons why we didn't:
1. Make the users more curious to actually open COYO and see what's new
2. Some regulations of work councils of some of our customers
But let's see - if people like this idea and vote for it there might me something we can do :)
I like that idea. Could be used to create basic templates for articles. Would also be interesting for blog articles.
Templates could be quite complicated and hard to understand / maintain for users. Maybe we start with adding an option to move / copy articles first and see whether this is sufficient for your use cases?!

synching messages was our first approach which turned out to be really complicated. Therefore we changed the strategy a bit and we are actually planning to create a COYO app within teams that pushes the messages (and news) into Teams. We are also planning to provide an easy way to push messages back to COYO from Teams.
However, we are still in a very early phase of implementing this feature but I hope I could give you an idea on how we are planning to create an integration.
Hey Isabell and Christoph, it is a neat idea but it is not planned right now. Lets see whether it's interesting for other customers, too and gehts some more votes.
We are planning to support mov videos as well to make it easier to upload videos from mobile devices. We are checking the technical impact to display a preview in the timeline right away. This could affect the overall performance of the platform since it takes a lot of bandwidth to stream videos.
@Thomas: In my opinion, re-rendering videos is something that should be done by specialized video platforms. This is a very complex (and CPU consuming) topic. Therefore I would like to avoid doing this on COYO servers.
@Stephanie: Right now it should be possible to upload MP4 files to a timeline. There will be no preview, though. You will see a link and when clicking on that link you will see the file detail view displaying the video. The support for MOV files will be part of the next major release.
I see. But providing a video upload / streaming solution within COYO is not solving the problem of the bandwidth. If the connection is limited it doesn't really matter were the video is streamed from.
Additionally, from my point of view COYO should not be a video streaming server. This is a super complex topic that other platforms have already solved and so it would be smarter to use those technologies. Also, the additional bandwidth that would be needed on the server could and probably will have a negative impact on the overall performance of the platform.
Though, something we are working on right now is a video preview / streaming for mp4 / mov files so that videos from mobile devices (mainly iPhones) can be uploaded and previewed in COYO more easily.
totally agree. Video is getting more and more important in internal communication (actually it is in all ways of communication). Therefore we are planning on providing a better integration of video platforms for the future. I agree that the main tasks are 1) to offer an easy way to integrate videos (for everyone) and 2) consider the privacy of internal videos.
That being said and considering the technical limitations (of COYO not being a streaming server) - from my point of view there is only the option of a good and seamless integration of one or more streaming providers.
For example we are thinking about integrating Microsoft Video / Streams or other services like movingimages, Kaltura etc. Unfortunately I can't really tell you right now when we are going to be able to implement this, but we are aware that this is an important issue.
problem with that would be that you would need a lot of bandwidth for that feature. The COYO server would act as a video streaming server which could interfere with the overall performance. As a workaround it would be better to add Youtube or Vimeo links to display the video. Would that be an option for you? Can we broaden the support for video streaming services?

This feature has been deprioritized in our roadmap.
Unfortunately, we need to postpone this feature further to speed up the development of our Office365 integration. However, we understand that a lot of users demand this and the topic has a high priority. We have therefore kept the item on our immediate roadmap.
I can absolutely understand your frustration. I am very sorry that we had to postpone this feature several times. We needed to prioritize other features (like the external workspace members) and the feature as such was more complex to implement than we thought. Right now our plan is to implement at least the feature to copy or move apps between pages and workspaces. This way one could prepare content in a private page / workspace and then copy it to a new one.
At least, I have some good news for the external workspace members. The development of this feature is completed and our quality assurance runs extensive tests at the moment. Our plan is to release this feature in November to our cloud and on premise customers.

Hey Winfried, unfortunately not. We stopped adding new features to COYO3 a while ago. This will only be available for COYO4.
One addition: I guess that most of the users change their timezone settings which affects the date and time of the event accordingly. This doesn't work for traveling user though.

If you want to change the text along the whole platform you can follow Christophs instructions. If you want to change the text of each timeline separately this would be a new feature request.
Would you like to change the text within the input box (like Christoph stated) or rather set a title for the widget?
